Moth Open Genève Results

This weekend, the Moth open took place at SNG in Geneva, unfortunately only 9boats raced on the Lake, all of them Mach2! Saturday the first Race was schedueled at 2pm, no wind as forcasted but the sun was heating the atmospere and big cloudcells were bilding over the jura mountains. After a brief postponement on shore and later on the water, the first race could get started and it was one of the quickest races we have ever sailed, as the wind kept building up! 7min for a a two-lap race ;)
The race course got larger for the next races and in total 4 nice races have been sailed when the wind was decreasing again. All boats stored on shore, a big storm arrived and was blowing with 30kts+
Sunday, same start, no wind at all from 9am until 2pm, waiting on shore boat-work and experience sharing. Then again some thermal breeze was coming in, really shifty and unstable, but the race-commity managed to get a course and a start. A difficult race, with a lot of lead-changes. At the last top-mark, the wind was decreasing again, Matthias Renker, in the lead managed to catch one of the last rise, and foiled until the entry-mark, and for all the rest, there was no more wind to take off again after the topmark. So Matthias was the only finisher for this heat, and took as well the overall win!
2nd Philip Käsermann, thanks to a win in the first race, in a tie with 3rd Mikis Psarofaghis.
